Art Life: I love journals (although I only kept written travel journals) and always loved other people's illustrated journals. My son gave me a gift certificate for Kate's Paperie for Mother's Day in 2003, I bought Gwen Diehn's book __The Decorated Page__, and then took a class with her at Kate's the very next week. In July 2006, I reduced my work schedule to 3 days per week, and shortly thereafter found Everyday Matters.

Work Life: I am an internist/hematologist and spent 30 years on two medical school faculties seeing patients, doing research, and teaching. My new 3 day per week schedule allows me to continue my administrative role, but I no longer supervise young MDs in training or take care of patients.

Home Life: I am married to an academic surgeon, have 3 grown children, and 3 grandchildren. My two oldest grandchildren (just 3 and 19 months) just moved to London for a year and we look forward to several more visits with them this year.
